The IT sector is in constant evolution but is also in shortage of the right people. Often for companies, it is really hard to find the right candidates to fill their assignments. That’s why recruiting a freelancer could be the solution to this problem. But how do you hire the right freelancer today? Well, We’ve taken a look at this issue and put together a few tips to help you attract and retain new talent within your organization through the Beelance platform.

When a company prepares and publishes its missions, it will pay special attention to hard and soft skills.  This is what will allow them to judge whether a candidate is suitable for the assignment or not. However, freelancers do not approach their search in the same way. They will be more likely to consider the type/content of the project, the working conditions and the environment in which they will be working.

For these reasons, it is therefore important to be careful when companies are looking for freelancers for their projects. In order to convince the freelancer, you will have to give them as much information as possible so that they can become more interested in what you are proposing as a company. The goal is not to hire just manpower, but motivated candidates who will carry your project through with you.

Here are a few tips to attract the right candidate for your mission:

Presentation of your company:

Offer an overview of your company and its culture to allow candidates the opportunity to identify themselves within the values and to imagine their role within the project.

Job description:

Write a short summary (+/- 4 lines) about the objectives of the job and how it fits into the company. A job summary highlights the key points, expectations, and responsibilities of the position. It is also an opportunity to explain what project the assignment is a part of and the expected/hoped-for result. It is important to personalize the description to stand out from the competition.

In addition, the title of your assignment must be attractive. It must therefore correspond to the job you are proposing. It has to attract the attention and interest of the freelancer.

Work environment:

Feel free to include information about the work environment so that the candidate can quickly find out if it is suited to them. The more they know, the more they will be able to find motivation and envision themselves working for your company. The goal is to be able to reassure the candidate and show them that they will be able to excel in this role. Is the company easily accessible? What’s in the vicinity? Are the offices fixed? Describe the working atmosphere that prevails to encourage maximum interest in your candidates.

Set a realistic price:

Before quoting a price, estimate your costs, the project’s scope, the technical requirements and profile’s type. It is true that a senior profile will not have the same price as a junior profile. Therefore, find out what the market prices are because, as we have just said, one profile is not the other.

We also advise you not to make only one proposal. Instead, choose a price range for your project. This way, the negotiation with your future freelancer will be more natural while keeping its appeal. Finally, please remain realistic and do not only propose the minimum price you are ready to invest, as this could scare off your future collaborator.
